You would think $5 trillion in wealth would buy some decent investment advice and a secure retirement. That’s the amount of money managed solely by women in households across the U.S.— and yet multiple studies and surveys have found that the financial-services industry has failed to engage its female clients, or even understand them. Meanwhile, many women have failed to seek, or follow, professional financial advice. This dysfunctional relationship is an enormous missed opportunity for both Wall Street and women, but one that is beginning to show signs of positive change.
