FAQs

  • What is Retirement?
It's whatever you want it to be. I believe retirement can be the best years of your life if you plan for them. Retirement gives you the opportunity to truly make a difference in your community, to engage in new hobbies, and to find purpose in ways you never thought possible. But be warned, you must prepare for retirement.
  • How Do I Prepare For Retirement?
You need to prepare for retirement in two key ways. The first, and most obvious is you must plan for it financially. I strongly recommend everyone develop a retirement plan, either on your own or with the help of a professional. And when I say on your own, that does not mean cutting corners out of convenience or being "laissez-faire". The second and equally important way to prepare for retirement is mentally and spiritually. Too often people work themselves to near death, then they finally retire and within months they are bored out of their mind. They didn't prepare mentally by developing new hobbies and interests. They didn't prepare spiritually so that they could reorient their purpose toward their higher calling. Why is this? We were not made to be consumers 100% of the time. We often think being a consumer is the most rewarding part but it is not true. Talk to almost any retiree and they will tell you what brings the most fulfillment is when they are doing something that brings value and purpose. Building an online business, developing a hobby, helping the community, or fulfilling the mission of your calling whatever that may be. When we are DOING what we were made to do, we find ultimate satisfaction (and joy, and peace).
